With more than three decades notched up for writing, it’s easy to see how prolific Charlaine Harris is in writing novels dealing with puzzling crimes, particularly murder. The list of her whodunit works is seemingly endless!
Charlaine is the author of The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, which are the basis for the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Aurora Teagarden original movies. She is best known for the adaptations of the urban fantasy series The Southern Vampire Mysteries, commonly called the Sookie Stackhouse series, which was adapted as the TV series True Blood.
Aurora Teagarden is a fictional character created by Harris. Candace Cameron-Bure from Full House stars in the title role. She is a librarian and belongs to the Real Murders Club, a group of 12 enthusiasts who gather monthly to study famous baffling or unsolved crimes in the town of Lawrenceton, Georgia. Her best friend is Sally Allison (Doig) a reporter with the local newspaper. Aida Teagarden (Henner) is Aurora’s mother who disapproves of her daughter’s involvement in solving murders.
Collection Three features three engaging movies. The first is titled A Game of Cat and Mouse. The librarian-turned-crime buff, Aurora attempts to figure out who is behind the creepy ‘game’ after someone begins taunting her with cryptic clues left at crime scenes.
In the second, An Inheritance to Die For, Aurora investigates the apparent poisoning of Sally Allison’s aunt and her mother’s friend, Gladys McCourt (Karen Kruper) who is poisoned at Lizzy Allison and Bubba Rankart’s wedding. Aurora vows to get to the bottom of the crime, especially when her mother, a friend of the dead woman, stands to inherit the bulk of the massive estate.
The last film – A Very Foul Play – sees a stage performance by Aurora and the club members, when an actual murder is committed in front of the ‘live’ audience. With her cousin Phillip (Dylan Sloane) as the prime suspect, Aurora must investigate to clear his name.
