Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) has launched a recruitment drive for Tree Workers to join its City Presentation team.
Manager of Urban Treescapes, Rachael Dawes said TCCS was looking for new recruits who were passionate about Canberra’s urban forest and enjoyed working outdoors.
“The City Presentation Branch is responsible for the planning, management and maintenance of parks and the public domain which includes lakes, public open spaces, city places and street and parkland trees,” Ms Dawes said.
“It maintains the look of the city and its surroundings.”
She said Canberrans were passionate about the Bush Capital and keeping the city looking at its best.
“At TCCS we are integral to ensuring our city remains one of the most liveable in the world,” Ms Dawes said.
“There are 10 permanent positions up for grabs in our Urban Treescapes team. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, have a great work ethic and interpersonal skills and take pride in their work.”
She urged women and people from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background to be among the applicants and said TCCS was hosting a Come and Try Day’ today (15 November) where there was a an opportunity to have a go at activities typically performed in the roles.
