TAFE Queensland has delivered around 68,000 COVID-19 vaccinations on its campuses across the State.

Minister for Training and Skills Development, Di Farmer said nine campuses, from Inala to Townsville, had been offering COVID-19 vaccinations on site.

“Everyone knows that TAFE Queensland offers life-changing opportunities through its award-winning training, but it is also providing life-saving opportunities through its vaccination hubs as well,” Ms Farmer said.

“Alongside our Queensland Health hubs, GPs, community pharmacies and more, it’s yet another way for Queenslanders to get us up to the vital 70 per cent and 80 per cent targets and opening our borders up on 17 December,” she said.

Ms Farmer said the pop-up clinics had made vaccinations easily accessible to so many.

“Last month, I visited the mobile COVID-19 vaccine hub at the Loganlea TAFE campus which was helping migrant and refugee students get the jab,” she said.

“The hub was part of the joint venture between TAFE Queensland, Queensland Health and the Mater Refugee Health Service, and helped more than 300 students get fully vaccinated.”

Ms Farmer said TAFE hubs had been, or would be, at the following campuses: Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Loganlea, Inala, Bohle (Townsville), Pimlico (Townsville), Toowoomba, Ipswich, and Mt Isa.

She said COVID vaccination information sessions were also planned for South Bank, Bracken Ridge, Mt Gravatt, Mooloolaba and Southport campuses.
