A new audit and compliance framework has been released by the Surveyor-General to assist with issues related to land ownership, measurement and definition of property boundaries.
Surveyor-General, Michael Burdett said the new Cadastral Integrity Audit & Compliance Framework set out the processes and procedures to assist licensed surveyors with regulatory compliance.
Mr Burdett said the new framework set an overarching approach to compliance and established principles for how regulatory functions were to be undertaken and monitored.
He said cadastral (boundary) surveying related to land ownership, measurement and definition of property boundaries and were performed for the re-establishment of existing property boundaries, or for the creation of new property boundaries for land divisions.
Mr Burdett said the Framework provided education to licensed surveyors and monitored the standards of certified surveys lodged with Land Services SA.
The Surveyor-General said he had issued a new version of the Cadastral Survey Guidelines (CSG) with amendments including updated contact details and links to new online forms for the Provision of Permanent Survey Mark (PSM) Coordinates, PSM Coordinate Error Reports and Notification of Final Marking.
