The former QSuper and Sunsuper joint retirement fund has been named Best Innovation – Retirement Innovator at Money magazine’s Best of the Best Awards 2023.
Now named Australian Retirement Trust, the fund was recognised as leading financial product and service providers in Australia.
Chief Executive of Australian Retirement Trust, Bernard Reilly said the award was a testament to the Trust’s focus on members and to being a retirement partner of choice for Australians.
“Improving our members’ retirement outcomes and helping them to and through retirement is our fund’s purpose — it’s our middle name after all,” Mr Reilly (pictured) said.
“Growing retirement savings is one part of the superannuation journey, but it has to be supported by intelligent products, education and advice.”
He said the Best Innovation – Retirement Innovator Award was a new category, acknowledging the Australian Retirement Trust’s Lifetime Pension, a market-leading product that worked with an account-based pension to help members feel more confident in their retirement.
“Superannuation is about members building enough savings to enjoy their best retirement, yet we know many retirees are worrying about their savings running out,” Mr Reilly said.
“That’s why we developed the Lifetime Pension.”
He said the research team which judged the award acknowledged the Australian Retirement Trust for leading the superannuation industry charge as the market shifted towards retirement as its central focus.
The Money magazine award follows a series of wins for the Lifetime Pension product.
It was named Best Fund: Longevity Product in the 10th annual Chant West Super Fund Awards 2022 and achieved international recognition at the Pensions and Investments’ Innovation Awards 2021.
