The thrills, chills and spills experienced when we go into endurance mode can be quite excruciating. A daring dream to scale the world’s most challenging trio of mountains soon turns into a terrifying nightmare for a group of friends when a deadly storm traps the climbers near the summit and cuts off all hope of rescue.
With the odds stacked against them, the friends are forced to trust each other to save themselves by any means necessary.
So, spare a thought for Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Thorp as an ambitious mountain expedition becomes a desperate struggle for survival for a group of friends scaling the world’s most challenging trio of mountains. They’ll do the Matterhorn, the Eiger and Mont Blanc in the same summer.
Leo (Phillippe, Cruel Intentions, Gosford Park, Shooter) and Michael (Thorp, Overdrive, Fate: The Winx Saga) feature in this nail-biting thrill ride that becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.
The group takes climbing seriously, but the ambitions of one of them, Jean-Pierre (Michel Biel, Dunkirk, Baptiste) tests not only the relationships of the wider group, but also their safety.
Michael’s love interest, Isabelle (Mathilde Warnier, The Wild Boys, Curiosa) plays the movie’s most prominent female role.
Filmed on location in the stunning mountains of France, Italy and Switzerland, and featuring extraordinary climbing sequences and stunts, Summit Fever is directed by experienced mountaineer Julian Gilbey (A Lonely Place to Die, Rise of The Footsoldier) who shows us the good, the bad, severe weather conditions and the intolerable.
Extreme adventure collides with extreme survival in this adrenaline-fueled thriller filmed in Chamonix.
