Australia Post is celebrating some of the country’s most lauded sporting commentators with its latest stamp release.
Philatelic Manager at Australia Post, Michael Zsolt said the stamps would feature six of Australia’s best-known sporting commentators: Richie Benaud, Reg Gasnier, Les Murray, Lou Richards, Jack Dyer and Bob Davis.
“The thousands of Australians who avidly follow various sporting codes rely on the insights of experienced sporting commentators to inform and entertain through television, radio, print and digital media, and that is what this release celebrates,” Mr Zsolt said.
“Australia’s love of sport extends to the voices that bring each game to life.”
He said the stamps, priced between $1.10 and $2.20, were created by graphic designer, Sean Pethick.
“Products associated with this issue include first day cover, stamp pack, maxi cards and a prestige booklet,” he said.
He said the stamps and associated products were available at participating Post Offices, via mail order on 1800 331 794, and online.
