Data Commissioner named
Deborah Anton has been appointed as the interim National Data Commissioner to lead public sector data reforms.
Ms Anton (pictured), who was previously a Deputy Director-General at IP Australia, will work closely with the Privacy Commissioner to help strengthen safeguards around the integrity, management and use of Government-held data.
Ms Anton has wideranging experience in legislation, regulation, policy and program delivery, developed during a career spanning more than 20 years in the Australian Public Service.
New faces for Museum
Mike Haywood and Peter Walker have been appointed to the Council of the National Museum of Australia, while Benedict Maguire has been reappointed.
All terms are for three years.
Dr Haywood is the founder of LiveHire Limited, a technology platform for employers to manage their current and future workforces while Mr Walker is an art dealer with more than 20 years’ experience in the museum and gallery sector and a valuer for the Government’s Cultural Gifts Program.
Mr Maguire is Chief Executive of the Australian Trucking Association.
The National Museum in Canberra develops, preserves and exhibits Australia’s national historical collection.
