Camplin leaves ASC board

Alisa Camplin is to step down from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Board to pursue professional and personal opportunities in Asia.

Ms Camplin (pictured) plans to relocate to Hong Kong with her family, having served on the ASC Board since 2007 and as Deputy Chair since last year.

She won a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics and was Performance Manager at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.


New advisors on Korea

Jacinta Thompson, Ruth Barraclough and Chris Raciti have been appointed to the Board of the Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF).

The AKF brings together Australians with public and private sector expertise to advise the Government on how to deepen further cooperation with the Republic of Korea.

Ms Thompson is the Executive Director at the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre at the University of South Australia; Dr Barraclough is an Associate Professor at the College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University, and Mr Raciti is the Chief Executive of ANZ Korea.

They replace James Cotton, Ian Williams and Susan Street on the Board which has as ongoing members Peter Coleman (Chair), Georgina Carnegie and Naomi Mathers.


Liaw to advise on Japan

Adam Liaw has been appointed to the Board of the Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF) and Bronwyn Evans, Debra Hazelton and Veronica Taylor have been reappointed.

The AJF brings together Australians with public and private sector expertise to advise the Government on how to further strengthen cooperation with Japan.

Mr Liaw worked in Japan for several years prior to his writing, culinary and media career. He replaces outgoing member Peter Cleary.

Other members of the Board are Murray McLean (Chair), Chris Saines and Mark Connors.
