ABC’s Whiting to PNG
Natalie Whiting (pictured) has been appointed Papua New Guinea (PNG) Correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).
She takes over from Eric Tlozek, who has been in the role for three years and has now been appointed one of the ABC’s Middle East Correspondents, based in Jerusalem.
Ms Whiting currently reports for the ABC in Tasmania.
The ABC has operated a bureau in Papua New Guinea for more than four decades and is now the only foreign news organisation with a permanent office there.
Seven new members of ARC Council
Seven new members have been appointed to Advisory Council of the Australian Research Council (ARC).
They are Deborah Terry (Curtin University), David Lloyd (University of South Australia), Cindy Shannon (Shannon Consulting), Kevin Hall (University of Newcastle), Lynley Marshall (Museums Victoria), Duncan Ivison (University of Sydney) and Mark McKenzie (Council of Small Business Australia).
All new appointees will serve for up to three years.
