The 2023 National Safe Work Month planned for October this year could find itself in hot water as the organisers declare SafeTea events the way to join workmates to share important conversations about health and safety at work.
According to the planners, the move is for workers to get their team together and start the important conversation over a cupper or two.
“Recognise National Safe Work Month in October by hosting a SafeTea event at your workplace,” Safe Works suggests.
“Gather your team, get together and start an important conversation about health and safety at work.
For those wondering ‘Why SafeTea’: “SafeTea emphasises the importance of involving everyone in WHS discussions by encouraging workplaces to grab a cuppa and have a safety chat,” a spokes sipper said.
And they even have advice for people who don’t drink tea.
“SafeTea is all about bringing people together to talk about safety and can be facilitated in many ways,” the organiser said, “including by hosting a safety themed SafeTradie or toolbox talk or a SafeTeam event for SafeTeams to virtual catch up.”
“We have several resources to help you plan a SafeTea event relevant to your industry, including a tradie safety checklist, conversation starter dice and more!” the planners said.
‘See our website for more and download them today,”
The organisers even set out an instruction on ‘How to Plan Your Chat’.
“Follow these steps to plan your SafeTea chat at work,” they said.
Download resources, including: a SafeTea checklist; conversation starter dice; SafeTradie posters; SafeTeams video call background; a co-brandable SafeTea; and SafeTradies social tile; as well as printable decorations.
“Follow us on social media to keep updated with new information and materials,” it said.
Photo fans are also welcome to use the hashtags #SafeTea #SafeWorkMonth, with the best ones featuring on the Safe Works LinkedIn showcase!
