Issermann is a London based singer/songwriter/producer who has burst onto the scene via a series of singles he released on Soundcloud and YouTube that have garnered a devoted following and sparked the interest of the music industry.

Sad + Boring is the title song of an upcoming album that follows on from his debut album, Demons, which was released early in 2021.

His songs would mostly be labelled as alternative/pop/rock/emo, sort of heavily produced Soundgarden.

It’s a genre that was very much in favour 10 years ago, but Issermann is bringing a new spin to it.

The sound is bass heavy and synth driven and a good deal of effort has been devoted to creating the right atmospherics to support the emotionally charged lyrical content.

It’s a genre that is not usually my cup of tea but there is something about his song structures that has drawn me in.

I watched several of his videos and listened to half a dozen songs on Soundcloud, so you could say that he’s got me hooked.

He’s got a good voice and there’s no doubt that he knows what he’s doing in the studio.

It is heavily produced and I normally pay little attention to music that’s over-reliant on studio effects so the fact that I listened to so many songs, and that I’m writing this review, suggests that he’s doing quite a lot well.

Have a listen to this single and make your own mind up.
