Reservoir Reserves is inviting people of all abilities to enjoy the great outdoors, with a variety of walking tracks to suit everyone’s needs.

In a statement, Reservoir Reserves said tracks catered to adults and children of all levels, from relaxing strolls and scenic runs, to rigorous hikes and workouts.

“From a 1.4 kilometre track at Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve to a 11 kilometre trail at Happy Valley, there are graded trails to suit most ages and fitness levels, from easy and short to longer ones that will definitely get your heart pumping,” Reservoir Reserves said.

“Along the way, you can explore native bushland, plantation forests, rolling hills and green open spaces, with each trail offering stunning views across the water or from a lookout along the route,” it said.

“You can even combine your walk with a workout at the outdoor exercise equipment located at some of the reserves.”

Reservoir Reserves said its free Avenza app, available from the Apple Store or Google Play, showed maps of each reserve and could record GPS tracks, even without mobile coverage.

It said Little Para Reservoir Reserve offered more than three kilometres of paths, including a two kilometre loop trail, through native bushland with a lookout over the reservoir and valley, while South Para featured Grade 3 trails suitable for most ages and fitness levels, with some bushwalking experience recommended.

Reservoir Reserves said runners keen for a challenge could use tracks at Little Para, South Para, Myponga, Hope Valley, Happy Valley, Mount Bold, Warren and Bundaleer.

“At Hope Valley you can also combine your walk with a workout at the outdoor exercise equipment,” it said.

Reservoir Reserves said more experienced bushwalkers could find trails at Happy Valley, Mount Bold and Myponga.
