QSuper has announced that its popular education seminars are to return to in-person events while still retaining an online component.
Team Leader for Member Education at QSuper, Kane Everingham said the seminars will be held at various locations around Queensland and would be an addition to the super fund’s online sessions.
“Beginning this month (April) a variety of member seminars will be held in-person to support your financial wellbeing — helping you wherever you live,” Mr Everingham said.
He said the seminars would cover a variety of superannuation and retirement planning topics that had previously been moved online in response to disruptions and challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years.
“Going online was one of the ways we continued to provide you with the important services, information and the support you needed through this difficult time,” Mr Everingham said.
“While our education officers missed seeing you in person around the State, we hosted 102 online seminars for almost 19,000 viewers in 2020-21.”
He said the online seminars had been popular and convenient for members “but we know some people prefer to speak with a person face-to-face”.
“Our new program aims to give our members a choice, with both online and in-person options on offer,’’ Mr Everingham said.
“Following the very successful trial of a return of our in-person education seminars in Cairns, Townsville, Bundaberg, the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba in recent months, 15 more seminars across Brisbane and the Gold Coast have been scheduled.”
He said the return of in-person events would include popular seminars to help members prepare for life after work, through to learning how they could make their money last in retirement.
