The Public Service Commission (PSC) has launched a new website for PS staff members to help manage their careers or take advantage of career opportunities in the Queensland public sector.

Working as Talent Now, the new service also offers managers a way to find the right talent for their teams.

“As the State’s largest and most diverse employer there are literally thousands of career opportunities within Queensland Government,” the PSC said announcing the service.

“If you, or someone you know, is looking for a new challenge or professional development opportunity—on-the-job experience in a new role may be just the thing.”

It said all Queensland public sector employees could register and use Talent Now which could be of particular interest to employees in non-frontline roles, looking for their next short-term opportunity.

“We encourage employees from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences to create a profile,” it said.

“With 38 Agencies participating, creating a profile will can give you access to exciting new roles and opportunities.”

It said managers looking for an easier way to find employees who can share their expertise, collaborate on a project or join a team for under six months could use Talent Now to search and contact candidates within minutes.

The Commission said Talent Now would not take the place of the standard recruitment process but provided another way to recruit current employees for development opportunities up to 12 months.

“Managers can search Talent Now to find and match employees before selecting and appointing as normal,” it said.

“Managers can also choose to post a job to the Talent Now opportunities board which will be visible to all employees across the sector.”

Talent Now is open for registration and can be accessed at this PS News link.
