Commitment, dedication and excellence in Public Service have been recognised and rewarded in the Queen’s Birthday Honours released by the Governor-General this week (11 June).
Among those to be recognised were Officers and Members in the Order of Australia as well as recipients of the Public Service Medal (PSM), Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM), Ambulance Service Medal (ASM) and Emergency Services Medal (ESM).

OFFICER (AO) IN THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA
Robin Mary CREYKE AO
Australian National University
For distinguished service to administrative law, and to education, as an academic and author, to public administration and tribunal practice, and to professional bodies.
Emeritus Professor Creyke was a lecturer at the ANU from 1973 to 2015 and has been an Emeritus Professor, since 2015.
MEMBER (AM) IN THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA
Linda Kay CREBBIN AM
ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal
For significant service to the law and to the legal profession in the Australian Capital Territory.
Ms Crebbin was General President of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal from 2008 to January 2017.
She also received the ACT International Women’s Day Award in 2003 for 15 years of dedicated work with the ACT Legal Aid Office in the ACT’.
Geoffrey Roger McNAMARA AM
Melrose High School
For significant service to secondary education, particularly in the disciplines of science and astronomy.
Service includes:
Mr McNamara has been a science teacher at Melrose High School since 2001.
Andrew Harris SINGER AM
ACT Health
For significant service to emergency medicine as a clinician, educator and administrator, and to professional medical organisations.
Adjunct Associate Professor Singer has been the Senior Specialist in Retrieval Medicine for SnowyHydro Southcare since 1999
PUBLIC SERVICE MEDAL (PSM)
Bronwen Margaret OVERTON-CLARKE PSM
Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate
For outstanding public service in the Australian Capital Territory, particularly in the area of public sector standards.
Ms Overton-Clarke has been the ACT Public Sector Standards Commissioner and Deputy Director-General, Workforce Capability and Governance in the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate since 2015.
She has been instrumental in driving cultural change across the ACT Public Service.
AUSTRALIAN FIRE SERVICE MEDAL (AFSM)
Kevin Clarence JEFFERY AFSM
Mr Jeffery joined the ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) in 1985 and has been a member of the Southern Districts Brigade since that time.
For over 30 years, he has provided the ACT community with distinguished and sustained service.
He held the position of Deputy Captain of the Southern Districts Brigade between 1990 and 2015.
AMBULANCE SERVICE MEDAL (ASM)
James Gerard ARNEMAN ASM
Mr Arneman commenced with the ACT Ambulance Service in 2011 after serving 22 years as a paramedic with the Ambulance Service in New South Wales.
He has undertaken the role of a Project Officer responsible for leading a major cultural and organisational reform program for ACT Ambulance Service and since 2015 has developed, delivered and embodied this reform project ‘Blueprint for Change‘.
EMERGENCY SERVICES MEDAL (ESM)
Graeme John TONGE ESM
Mr Tonge has made an invaluable contribution to the community as a volunteer with the ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) for more than 50 years.
During this time he has directly contributed to the ongoing development of the ACTSES into the highly regarded organisation it is today.
He has been involved in most of the major SES operations that have occurred in the ACT, including the 2003 Canberra fires and many of the SES Task Forces the ACT has contributed to during emergency events around Australia.
