PS News is back in the news business for Victoria’s Public Service this week after a break of more than three years, and we’re back bigger and better than ever.
First launched in November 2006 and published weekly until late 2015, the Victorian PS News reported over 7,000 stories about the Victorian Public Service for more than 400 weeks before going into hibernation to afford the founder and editor, Frank Cassidy, the chance to try semi-retirement.
But a good idea with a committed audience can’t stay down for long so Victoria’s PS News is back with a new layout, new features but the same unbreakable commitment to reporting the activities and achievements of the VPS as accurately and timely as a semi-retired editor can.
The resurrected weekly version of PS News will take the place of the very popular PS News Professional service which has entertained Victorian readers for more than three years with all the features that made PS News Professional so popular included in their entirety in the renewed PS News edition, delivering to readers once again the best of all PS worlds.
As always, PS News will go into bat for the public sector against its critics, competitors, self-appointed experts and downright enemies in recognition of the critically important role the public sector plays in the management, development, strength and security of the state of Victoria.
Also as always, PS News will remain open to constructive comment on how best to serve you, its audience, so any suggestions you might have on how it can do its valuable job more effectively and informatively will be warmly welcomed.
But while we await your suggestions, we hope you’ll appreciate the new look PS News and make a practice of visiting it as often as possible to remain informed and motivated.
