The NSW Public Service Commissioner, Emma Hogan (pictured), has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Customer Service, replacing Glenn King who is to leave the post after seven years with the NSW Public Service.
Announcing the move, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said Ms Hogan was highly qualified to lead the Department.
“Emma brings a wealth of experience in people and customer service, having worked in senior executive roles across major private sector organisations including Foxtel, Woolworths and Qantas,” Ms Berejiklian said.
She said Mr King had led a range of sector-wide reforms during his seven years of PS leadership, putting customers at the centre of service delivery and simplifying how citizens interacted with government.
“Mr King also served as the Deputy Secretary of the Premier’s Implementation Unit and the Customer Service Commissioner within the Department of Premier and Cabinet,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“He played a critical role in delivering the Premier’s Priorities, Cost of Living Service, Container Deposit Scheme and Active Kids Rebate,” she said.
Minister for Customer Service, Victor Dominello congratulated Ms Hogan on her appointment and thanked Mr King for his service to the people of NSW.
“Emma has transformed the culture of the public service over the past 18 months in her role as the NSW Public Service Commissioner, and will continue to drive this in her new position.”
“I have no doubt Emma will continue to pave the way for us to deliver innovative services that will benefit everyone in NSW.”
He said Mr King had done a great job laying the foundations for success in transforming customer service in NSW.
Ms Berejiklian said a new NSW Public Service Commissioner would be announced in due course.
