The Public Sector Commission has announced that the 2023 WA Public Sector Census was now open and it is urging every Government employee to take part in it.
In a statement the Commission said it was an opportunity for all 166,000 PS employees to share a bit more about themselves and their work experiences.
“Doing so will help improve our sector now and in the future,” the Commission said.
“The Census consists of a short questionnaire that asks about you and your employment and includes questions about integrity, diversity, capability, leadership and culture,” it said.
The Commission said the insights gathered in the census would help Agencies and the sector in general to make informed decisions about ways to strengthen the workforce and best support staff.
“While it’s a significant project for the sector, it will take only around eight minutes to complete, creating very little disruption to the important work that staff and Agencies undertake every day,” it said.
“The information provided by public sector staff in the census will provide meaningful, in-depth workforce data that will go back to Agencies.”
The Commission said the data would help leadership teams make informed decisions about how to strengthen the workforce and improve ways of working.
“To do this, the census includes a variety of questions covering demographics, job type and tenure, diversity and inclusion, education, working conditions and workforce experience,” it said.
“It will unlock insights to make sure we have the skills, capabilities and workforce mix to best serve the people of Western Australia, now and in the future.”
The Census will close on 2 April.
