Promoting the power of positivity

Bruce Kasanoff* advocates meditation for those who need help to change their thinking and achieve a positive mindset.

Your thoughts control your reality. For human beings, there is no such thing as a single objective reality.

Take the exact same situation, and one person is wildly optimistic while the other person is anxious and filled with doom.

The good news is that you can shift your thoughts towards the uplifting, positive side by feeding yourself uplifting, positive meditations.

Here’s an example.

“All that I do, say, and think highlights the positive. I am the one who uplifts, inspires, encourages, praises, and supports.

“When negative events occur, I counterbalance them. When someone falls or fails, I help them up.

“There are plenty of people eager to highlight what goes wrong; I am not one of them.

“My role is to highlight what goes right so that it happens much more often.

When you feel a bright, warm, nurturing light… it is probably me.”

I am suggesting you read this to yourself five, 10 or 20 times — or maybe more if it helps.

That meditation comes from the book I Am, which Amy Blaschka and I co-authored three years ago.

We started writing with this simple idea.

Anything is fair game, as long as the effect is to remove a reader from his or her everyday thoughts and feelings.

The more immersive and different the journey, the more effective it will be at clearing (or perhaps resetting) a reader’s mind.

We might suggest they are a force, or an idea, or emotion. We can take them to a different time or place.

They could be a planet or rock, a dream or thought, a force for good or a molecule so tiny… well, you get the idea.

Let’s be as positive, creative, experimental, and free-flowing as possible.
