Australia Post has entered a partnership with Beyond Blue to help Australians stay mentally well and build stronger, more connected communities.

The organisation said the partnership sought to make mental health and wellbeing part of everyday conversations and connect people to the support and information available through Beyond Blue.

Executive General Manager of Community and Consumer at Australia Post, Nicole Sheffield said the partnership would resonate with the Australian community as well as Australia Post’s extended workforce of over 75,000 people.

“When we asked our people what they wanted us to focus on in the community space, mental health and wellbeing was the leading response,” Ms Sheffield said.

“We know that when we connect we feel better and we are so proud of the role we play in facilitating millions of connections between Australians each year,” she said.

“Our vast network allows us to bring Beyond Blue’s resources and information into more communities and encourage discussions that support mental health and wellbeing across Australia.”

Ms Sheffield said that since 2019 Australia Post had delivered information about NewAccess, a free coaching service developed by Beyond Blue, to more than 1.1 million households nationally.

She said to further support discussions about mental health and make it easier for Australians to connect with each other in a meaningful way, Australia Post had created a stamp release titled, ‘When we connect, we feel better’.

“The stamp aims to support connection by encouraging customers to purchase the stamp in pairs: the sender simply uses one stamp to post the letter and includes the second in the envelope so the recipient can easily write back,” she said.
