Sixteen detectives and support staff have been recognised for their service and commitment to the NSW Police Force at the 15th annual State Crime Command Excellence Awards.

State Crime Commander, Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith congratulated each award recipient for their devotion to their work and the wider community.

“To receive one of these awards is a great honour and I congratulate each of the detectives and members of our support staff who have been recognised,” Assistant Commissioner Smith said.

“Each recipient has demonstrated a pursuit in excellence in their chosen career as an investigator and NSW Police Force employee – while serving the people of New South Wales,” he said.

“It is their ongoing contribution to investigative policing that enables the State Crime Command to continue its strong commitment to tackling and disrupting serious and organised crime in our community.”

Assistant Commissioner Smith said the recipient’s diligence, skill and strong commitment to their work earned them the respect of their peers, who’d nominated them for the awards.

“They are a credit to their commands and the NSW Police Force, and we acknowledged them for their resolve and tenacity in investigating some of the state’s most complex crimes,” he said.

Assistant Commissioner Smith said the detectives and support staff recognised represented squads and specialist units across the State Crime Command and were integral to the investigation of serious and organised crime.
