Tom Bukovac (aka Uncle Larry, aka Lil’ Tommy… and a variety of other aliases) is a wonderful guitarist from Nashville Tennessee who is a highly respected, and much in demand, session musician.

Plexi soul is a collection of twelve of his instrumental compositions.

During the pandemic lockdown he got his music out to his followers via his popular YouTube channel ‘Home Skoolin’.

This album developed out of the many lessons he ran for the committed aspiring musicians who tuned in to learn new skills, so it really is an extended lesson in guitar technique.

Tom is a highly talented player who can turn his hand to any style, and often does, but on this album he’s mostly in mellow easily listening mode.

He really is a guitarist’s guitarist.

He has such a clean technique and a wonderful tone.

The twelve tracks cover many different techniques from finger picking to countless flat pick styles, and a myriad of modes and tonalities.

He has a good ear for a tune and his technical skill allows him to fully explore multiple variations on a theme.

This album is not just for the guitarists amongst us, it has plenty to offer the casual listener as well as lovers of wonderful musicianship.

It’s the sort of album that could accompany cooking a meal and doing the dishes just as well as it would reward listening to with headphones on as you drift along with the music through magical soundscapes.

The album is available through Bandcamp.
