The ACT Parks and Conservation Service is running a Spring Rides photographic competition to show off the region’s mountain bike tracks and bike paths.

The Service said the competition offered contestants the chance to win some great prizes and all they had to do was enter a bike-themed photo or video taken from any of the ACT’s parks, reserves, or paths.

“Our region has some of the best mountain biking and cycle paths in the country and spring is a great time to get out and explore all the great biking experiences Canberra has to offer,” it said.

It said first prize included two nights’ accommodation at either Ready Cut Cottage or Nils Desperandum, both of which were among the Territories oldest homesteads.

It said 20 copies of Your guide to cycling in Canberra would be awarded to highly commended photos (one per person).

The competition is open until Sunday 29 September and winners will be announced on Monday 7 October.

The Parks Service said photos and videos had to be taken in the ACT in order to be eligible but the competition was free to enter and open to all, including visitors to the ACT region.
