Jill Emberson of the ABC is fighting ovarian cancer with everything she can hurl at it ….. but the stats tell us it will be another fight that ends tragically for this formidable woman, just as it does for so many others.
Beside her at the National Press Club is Nicole Livingstone, another fighter, particularly in the pool and now as an ambassador for Women’s football, but she avoided the insidious ovarian cancer as her mother died from the disease and left Nicole the evidence to save her from it.
Is this the future?
Do we have to collect the data and the stats from the good old girls who’ve gone before?
Do we arm our girls with evidence to save them or do we harangue our politicians and medical experts to make changes to protect us.
On a totally different level there was the Huawei address to the National Press Club in Canberra that had the journalists not obviously convinced by the intent of Chairman, Huawei Technologies Australia, John Lord to set the record straight.
Who or what to believe, with a fractious relationship between Australia and China, you do have to wonder what’s next in the technosphere and when ‘picking up a phone’ will once again be simple.
