The Department of Education’s Findmyschool website has been updated to give parents the most up to date information about the school zones they live in.
Minister for Education, James Merlino said the updates included school zone information for the 14 new schools due to open for the 2021 school year.
“Every child has the right to enrol at their closest Government school or, if there is capacity, at another school of their choice,” Mr Merlino said.
“No student currently enrolled in a school will be required to change schools,” he said.
“The website allows parents to find their closest Government school and other nearby Government schools.”
Mr Merlino said the website showed the school zones for the current enrolment year and for 2021.
“When the site was launched last year, it was the first-time school zone maps became easily accessible in one place, giving schools and parents access to an official source of information on government school zones,” he said.
Mr Merlino said the website took the guess work out of identifying the closest Government school and gave parents the clarity they needed when deciding which school to enrol their child in.
