Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) has launched a recruitment drive for new members of its City Presentation team.
Director of City Presentation at TCCS, Stephen Alegria said the work would attract people who enjoyed working outdoors and keeping the city looking its best.
“If you are a parent looking to return to the workforce, are just starting your career or want to try something new away from a desk, a job in our City Presentation team is a great opportunity for you,” Mr Alegria said
He said the City Presentation branch was responsible for planning and managing parks and other public in the city including lakes, street trees, open space and city places.
“It maintains the look of the city and its surroundings,” he said.
“No two days will be the same and you’ll undertake a wide range of duties from cleaning to mowing and maintenance of garden beds.”
Mr Alegria said there were 12 permanent positions to be filled and 20 temporary vacancies.
“During recruitment we look for people who are enthusiastic, passionate, have great interpersonal skills and take pride in their work.”
He said the branch would be holding information sessions for aspiring applicants to provide an overview of the City Presentation branch and the positions’ working conditions, wages and benefits.
“I strongly encourage women, people from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background, and people with disability to apply,” Mr Alegria said.
Applications close on 12 June and the information sessions are to be held on 29 May in Gungahlin and 30 May in Tuggeranong.
