The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) has developed a new induction course for recently appointed members of the Australian Public Service (APS).
The pilot APS Online Induction Portal is to go on trial for 12 months after being introduced last week.
The portal delivers a range of eLearning modules, videos, and guides designed to improve the induction experience for newcomers to the APS.
In a statement on its website, the APSC said it would be seeking feedback and evaluation data from Agencies during the pilot phase.
“The centrepiece of the portal is a series of contemporary, dynamic and interactive eLearning modules.” the APSC said.
It said these included: Working in the APS; Information Management; Structure of Government and Role of Parliament; Fraud Awareness; Integrity and Values; and Money and Resources.
“These modules will each take between 15-to-20 minutes to complete,” the APS said.
It said that by the end of October additional pilot modules would be included for testing and feedback including: WHS; Security; APS Frameworks; Departments and Agencies; Risk, and Diversity.
“To access the portal, you’ll need a log on and password from your Agency’s HR area.”
“If your agency has not yet signed up to be part of this pilot, then get them to email [email protected].”
The Commission said the previous 10-module online induction program would continue to be available until the end of October.
