Service SA has kicked off a pilot program to integrate COVID-19 digital vaccination certificates into its mySA Gov app.
Announcing the Program’s launch, the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) said the VaxCheck pilot would enable fully-vaccinated South Australians to include proof of their digital certificate within the mySA Gov app, while also using the QR code COVID SAfe Check-In feature.
The Department said the Program would include 50 participants testing the functionality and usability over a three-week period and was expected to be available for use in the State by mid-November.
“The pilot will help ensure a secure and seamless roll-out to the South Australian community within the coming weeks, as our State prepares to be COVID-ready,” the Department said.
It DPC said the digital certificate was available once a person was fully vaccinated by doses of a recognised COVID-19 vaccine.
It said digital certificates could be accessed using Medicare online accounts through myGov or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.
The Department said that if people were ineligible for Medicare, they could use the Individual Healthcare Identifier service through myGov to get proof of vaccination.
It said digital certificates could be added to digital wallets on smart phones, or printed when downloaded online.
The DPC said details about the introduction and ongoing use of VaxCheck within South Australia was currently under consideration.
“Once the pilot is complete, further information will be available to guide South Australia’s use of COVID-19 digital certificates in the mySA GOV app, as part of the State’s reopening,” the Department said.
