Construction is under way on two Queensland Ambulance Stations which are going to service the needs of growing local communities.

The new Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) station at Ripley will include a purpose-built base for the West Moreton District Office which will relocate to Ripley from the Ipswich Ambulance Station.

Construction will include a modern fit-for-purpose facility with office and write-up space, a charge area, breakout and locker rooms and a multi-function rest, study and training room.

It will be staffed by one officer-in-charge and 16 paramedics, who will deliver 24/7 operational ambulance services.

It will also house a 10-bay ambulance vehicle plant room with storage area and additional covered parking for non-acute vehicles.

Similarly, the new Morayfield Ambulance Station will service high-growth communities across the North Brisbane region, helping to improve response times and health outcomes.

The station will include an office, write-up space, charge area, amenities, breakout and locker rooms, multi-function rest/study/training rooms, and a storeroom.

A 10-bay ambulance vehicle plant room with storage area and a carport for another five non-acute QAS vehicles is also to be provided.

Completions of both Ambulance Stations are expected by early 2024, pending weather and other factors.

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Yvette D’Ath said demand for health care continued to rise across the State, which was why the provision of new Ambulance Stations was so important.

“Not only will these Ambulance Stations provide greater access to healthcare for their communities, they also mean our local paramedics have world-class facilities from which to work,” Ms D’Ath said.
