The Matildas are returning to Western Australia for four international games in June and July, including their first match in regional WA.
WA hopes to become a destination for world-class football with the announcement of “friendly” matches in Perth and Bunbury against Slovenia and Panama.
Tickets for the Matildas’ international series go on sale from 13 May, with two matches scheduled per opponent:
- Thursday, 26 June – Matildas vs Slovenia (HBF Park, Perth)
- Sunday, 29 June – Matildas vs Slovenia (HBF Park, Perth)
- Saturday, 5 July – Matildas vs Panama (Hands Oval, Bunbury)
- Tuesday, 8 July – Matildas vs Panama (HBF Park, Perth).
The Matildas’ last visit to Perth was in October 2023 for the Olympic qualifiers, which generated more than $4 million for the local economy as locals and interstate visitors flocked to see Australia’s beloved women’s team play the Philippines.
“Western Australians love the Matildas, and it’s fantastic to welcome them back to Perth for another international series, building on the momentum of 2023’s unforgettable Olympic qualifiers and the FIFA Women’s World Cup,” Tourism Minister Reece Whitby said.
“These matches are not only exciting for local fans, but they’ll also drive WA residents and out-of-state visitors into Perth and the South West, supporting tourism and hospitality businesses across the state during the winter period.
“Hosting the Matildas for the first time in regional WA is a huge milestone and shows our commitment to spreading the benefits of these major events beyond the metro area.”
The upcoming games will be the last time fans can see the Matildas play in WA before the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026, which will begin in Perth at Optus Stadium with both the opening ceremony and the opening match.
