As a prelude to the Moondog Blues Band, the favoured pre-gig drinks, happy hour and plenty of nibbles kept the patrons for this early evening soiree contented and chatting while slurping the oysters at Canberra’s National Press Club.
Thursday night is the one for great ‘blues’ bands and this one was fresh from their Chicago gigs with an apt description that “Moondog Blues is possessed…..heartfelt and real like the great blues/soul singers of old”.
And as the hero of the harmonica, a unique voice and guitar Moondog did his thing well.
A good choice for a few quiet drinks, and a respite from the usual suspects on the telly.
