The combination of Peter Dutton, Crime Stoppers Canberra Conference and a formidable Julius Caesar from Bell Shakespeare made for a week of the extremes of ancient and current perceptions of the perpetuity of conflict.

Peter Dutton was as usual ‘on song’ for his address to the predominately Crime Stoppers audience at the National Press Club in Canberra with participants from all States and a formidable collection of the major players in Canberra who value and use the stats and information from this vital network of volunteers and concerned citizens.

For Bell Shakespeare the production of Julius Caesar – of the casually dressed formula- was a daunting effort for James Evans, the Associate Director at Bell Shakespeare, who stepped into the formidable role of Brutus for opening night.

He was formidable with an abridged version a refreshing change for this political thriller, a reminder of our own ‘Ides of March’ with many debts still to be settled.

But there was no blood on the floor for our current dismissal and the big bold Julius Caesar reminded how the more things change…..etc.
