At 808A Lawrence Hargrave Drive, Coledale, life unfolds to the sound of the surf and the shimmer of Sharkies Beach just across the road.

Ray White Thirroul’s Justin Sydenham says this brand new five-bedroom, five-bathroom showpiece, now on the market for the first time, is a Mediterranean-inspired sanctuary designed for those who never want the weekend to end.

“Everyone comments just when they see it — you feel ‘at home’, but like your life is one long vacation,” he says.

Visitors will be unsurprised to learn the home was a passion project designed and built by two local civil engineers, obsessed with quality, for their own family.

“They’re passionate about building quality homes with innovative architecture in the northern suburbs, and it’s evident,” Justin says. “From the moment they come up with plans to the finishing touches, they make homes that transcend the ordinary.”

Here, your weekends are spent drifting between ocean dips and sun-soaked relaxation, but location and architecture are not the only drawcards.

The floor plan was cleverly built for flexibility, with a configuration allowing for just about any arrangement.

Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, including the master bedroom with its walk-in wardrobe. There’s also the open plan dining, living room, headlined by an oversized gas fireplace encased within a striking sandstone wall.

The gourmet kitchen is a showstopper. Centred around a 60 mm waterfall-edge breakfast bar, it’s fitted with a Smeg 900 induction cooktop, two pyrolytic ovens, an additional combi oven with warmer and a Liebherr fully integrated double fridge, plus a wine fridge. A full butler’s pantry with extensive storage and a double sink completes the entertainer’s dream.

The builders created a home that “transcends the ordinary”.

This upper floor is characterised by commercial full-length double-glazed glass reaching up to the vaulted ceilings, wide light-filled hallways and a seamless flow to the gorgeous back entertainment and relaxation area.

This space is punctuated by a north-facing Palm Springs-inspired pool deck with polished concrete podiums, built-in barbecue and a mosaic-tiled heated pool or oversized spa for year-round enjoyment.

“There’s this moment, when you step from the outdoor area into the wide, high-ceilinged hallway, and you’re gazing straight through the house to the ocean. It’s surreal, and a feeling I can’t ever imagine getting old,” Justin says.

“Thanks to those top-to-toe picture windows, the entire eastern wall is like a piece of art, bringing the ocean to your doorstep.”

Downstairs, the living is equally refined. Two more bedrooms share a large bathroom, but also have their own living room, a sculptural kitchen, ocean views, and direct access to the sun-drenched garden terrace and front garden.

The lower level can be closed off with an internal security door, allowing it to function as a private retreat for older kids, in-laws or guests or as a self-contained space to rent out part-time.

“Whether you’re seeking space for a growing family, an idyllic retreat for entertaining or a flexible dual-living solution, this coastal haven delivers it all with unmistakable style,” Justin says.

Other useful features include a private side entry framed by a brushed-gold hot/cold outdoor shower, double-height entry void with joinery bench seating, a cloak cupboard and concealed shoe storage, premium finishes throughout, including Chevron Oak flooring, central ducted heating and cooling and under-floor heating in both master bathrooms.

Coledale’s eateries and shops, as well as the iconic Headlands Hotel, are all only a minutes-long coastal stroll away.

The price guide for this home is $4 million.
