The Compliance Committee is empowered by the Sydney Airport Demand Management Act 1997 (the SADM Act) and the Sydney Airport Demand Management Regulations 2025 (the regulations) to advise the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government (the Minister) on aircraft operator compliance with the SADM Act, the regulations and the Sydney Airport Slot Management Scheme 2025 (the Scheme) governing the use of slots at Sydney Airport. Slots control access by aircraft operators to runways, taxiways and terminal infrastructure.
The Compliance Committee’s role will involve providing clear, informed advice to the Minister on the slot misuse offences identified in the SADM Act. The committee’s findings will be communicated to the Minister and department for potential enforcement action using the sanctions and penalties in the SADM Act.
