Jobs Victoria is to guarantee thousands of jobs for TAFE graduates in the social services sector under a program aimed at strengthening the State’s pipeline of essential workers.

Announced by the Minister for Housing, Danny Pearson, the Job Guarantee program and its accompanying Jobs that Matter campaign guaranteed all students a job in the social services sector when they graduated from the Diploma of Community Services between 1 September 2022 (yesterday) and 31 August 2024.

“Victorian students can enrol in the Diploma of Community Services, a Free TAFE course, with the assurance of a job when they finish training,” Mr Pearson said.

“Community service employers will also be supported to take on graduates, helping them fill vacancies and develop their organisations,” he said.

“The Jobs that Matter campaign highlights a range of roles available across the community services sector that make a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities, including children and family, disability, family violence, homelessness and ageing services.”

Mr Pearson said there were several thousand jobs across the State supporting people who needed extra care and support.

“There are also jobs available for trainees and people entering the workforce for the first time, through to experienced practitioners and for Aboriginal, culturally and linguistically diverse and regional Victorians,” the Minister said.

He said pre-registrations for the Jobs Guarantee program was now open for job matching to start on 1 October.
