The Institute of Public Administration Australia NSW (IPAA NSW) has launched its reimagined annual State Conference, now known as Public Service Symposium: Be The Change.
Chief Executive of IPAA NSW, Madeleine Culbert said the Symposium explored eight capabilities that would equip public servants to be active players in positive change, no matter their level or location.
“It has been remarkable what the NSW public sector has achieved over the last 18 months while working under the most extraordinarily demanding circumstances,” Ms Culbert said.
“What has impressed me even more is the determination I have seen, and the ability of those within the public sector to drive change to better meet the needs of our citizens,” she said.
“This Symposium highlights those success stories and explores how you can be part of real change.”
Ms Culbert said there were four events in the Symposium, delivered in face-to-face and online formats, and encouraging two-way discussions between audience members and presenters.
“Our program features a mix of personal stories and insights, public sector workplace experience, and analysis from thought leaders and subject matter experts,” she said.
She said the first event was Resilience + Courage on 23 June, followed by Leadership + Purpose, 30 June; Transformation + Capability, 8 July; and COVID Learnings + Collaboration, 21 July.
Ms Culbert said each event within IPAA NSW’s Symposium was offered free of charge to IPAA NSW Professional and Affiliate members as part of the Institute’s agreement with NSW clusters.
She said those who worked in the public sector (identified by a @nsw.gov.au email address) could join IPAA NSW as an affiliate member free of charge.
