IPAA announces jolly good Fellows

The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) has recognised the contributions made by 10 of its members to the public sector, installing them as National Fellows at a dinner in Melbourne.

National President of IPAA, Peter Shergold (pictured centre) announced the new fellows at the Institute’s national conference dinner.

“The National Fellow awards recognise those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the study and practice of public administration,” Professor Shergold said.

The new fellows are:

Alison Larkins, who became a principal at the Nous Group earlier this year, and before that was Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Secretary at the Department of Health.

Brendan Sargeant, who was Acting Secretary of the Department of Defence for part of last year, and had held the position of Associate Secretary there for four years before that.

Bronwen Overton-Clarke, who retired last December as Public Sector Standards Commissioner in the ACT Public Service.

Teresa Anderson (pictured left), Chief Executive of the Sydney Local Health District.

Glenn King (pictured right), Deputy Secretary of the NSW Premier’s Implementation Unit and previously Chief Executive of Service NSW, establishing and then leading the Agency.

Cheryl Batagol, Chair of the Victorian Environmental Protection Authority since 2009.

David Martine, Secretary of the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance since 2014, after moving from the Commonwealth. He was previously Deputy Secretary Aged Care in the Federal Department of Social Services.

Dave Stewart, Director-General of the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet. Previously he was Secretary of Transport in NSW.

Nina Lyhne, Managing Director, Transport Services at the Western Australian Department of Transport since 2011.

David Reynolds, Under Treasurer/Chief Executive at the South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance since 2015.
