The Public Sector Commission has announced that after 10 years as a printed publication and nine years as an online information sharing and networking platform for Western Australian public sector employees, InterSector is to be decommissioned on 30 June.

In a statement, the Commission said a significant amount of work had been done to develop iThink (WA Public Sector) as the online ideas community for public sector staff to generate and share ideas, add to the ideas of others and vote for their favourites.

InterSector’s events calendar feature, which promotes external professional development providers, will not continue, but a public sector calendar will continue, and will now include Parliamentary sitting dates,” the Commission said.

“Public sector notices published under the Public Sector Management Act 1994 will now be published on the website, WA.gov.au.

It said additional information would be provided to key stakeholders in the coming weeks on changes that might impact their business processes.

It said that for the past decade InterSector was the go-to place for Public Servants seeking information on courses, seminar and events.

“It is an end of an era for InterSector,” it said.

“However, the future looks bright for the sector as it embraces innovative ways of doing business that deliver better outcomes for the Western Australian community,” the Commission said.
