The Indian Government has approved an agreement with Afghanistan to share resources and expertise in Public Service recruitment.
A Cabinet statement said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India and the Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission (IARCSC) of Afghanistan had been signed as part of the initiative.
“The MoU will strengthen the relationship between the IARCSC and the UPSC,” the statement said.
“It will facilitate the sharing of experience and expertise of both the parties in the area of recruitment,” it said.
“The agreement will encompass areas including the exchange of experience on a modern approach to Public Service recruitment and selection.”
The statement said the agreement would promote the exchange of information and expertise around usage of IT in the preparation of written examinations and holding of computer-based recruitment tests and online examinations.
Also included would be the sharing of experience in the efficient scrutiny and speedy disposal of applications and the training of officials.
Meanwhile, four COVID-19-positive applicants have been able to take the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examinations after special arrangements were made for them.
The four candidates wrote the test at a centre especially provided for them with a team of two doctors and two nurses all in personal protective gear acting as invigilators, an official said.
