Director: Scott Speer, Defiant Screen Entertainment.

Cast: Bella Thorne, Dermot Mulroney, Richard Harmon.

Why are there so many ghosts around? That question comes to mind as everyone sees dead people in this supernatural thriller.

Thorne (Blended, You Get Me, Midnight Sun, Assassination Nation) plays the role of a teen named Veronica Calder in a world 10 years after an apocalyptic event tears a barrier between our world and the next. This leaves the ghost-like essences of the deceased who become part of everyday life.

However, following years of quiet co-existence, one of these ‘Remnants’ has made contact with Veronica to deliver a terrifying message. The threatening communication from beyond the grave, propels her on a mission with consequences that will forever change the course of her life.

That’s when she discovers she’s being stalked from beyond the grave by a burly, but morose ghost named Brian (Thomas Elms) who first appears to Veronica in her bathroom while she’s having a shower.

It becomes fatally complicated once Veronica enlists the help of generic misfit Kirk Lane (Harmon) and good male teacher August Bittner (Mulroney). Kirk and August expand the scope and meaning of Veronica’s quest to a degree that’s ultimately illogical and dramatically unbelievable. Veronica and friend Kirk stagger upon a more sinister plot that’s way beyond their wildest imagination.

Delivered is an eerie, well-twirled story that will definitely keep the audience engaged.

The foundation of this film is straightforward. It’s based on Break My Heart 1,000 Times, a novel by Daniel Waters, who is also the author of the Generation Dead series.

Tell us the name of Veronica’s friend who helps with her inquiries, and three lucky readers will win DVDs of I Still See You. Entries should be sent to [email protected] by next Monday, 6 May 2019. Names of the winners will be announced in Frank Cassidy’s PS-sssst…! column next week.
