The History Trust of South Australia is preparing to celebrate its 40th birthday next month with the resurrection of a conference to share research and the latest findings about South Australia’s history.
Announcing the two-day 2021 State History Conference on 19 and 20 November, the History Trust said registrations were now open for A State of Change: Two days of learning, sharing and connecting history.
It said the History Trust, State Library of South Australia, University of Adelaide and Wakefield Press would bring together practitioners, researchers and history enthusiasts to talk about, learn and share the State’s rich and diverse history as the Conference returned after a three-year break.
“The State History Conference has traditionally been a place for everyone to come together and share research and latest findings about South Australia’s history,” the History Trust said.
“We hope you will join us as we embark on two days of learning, sharing and connecting history.”
In its 40th year, the History Trust said it celebrated the ordinary as well as the extraordinary, relying on excellent and extensive research.
“South Australia’s unique history should be an essential part of what all South Australians and our visitors can experience,” it said.
“It explains our society and the way it works, and how this feeds into the giant story of human endeavour across our world.”
The History Trust said the Conference would be held both in-person and online and all registrations would include online access to the Conference content for six months.
