The Future Health Research and Innovation Fund (FHRI Fund) has invited people with an interest in health and medical research to join it to evaluate applications for research and innovation funding.
In a statement, the Fund organisers said they were on the lookout for people who would like to be part of this process.
“A genuine interest in health and medical research and innovation is the only prerequisite for registering,” the organisers said.
“Individuals with lived experience of a health issue are encouraged to nominate as are researchers, innovators, clinicians and policy-makers.”
The organisers said the role entailed reviewing funding proposals.
“When FHRI Fund programs or initiatives are ready to assess applications, registrants deemed best suited to that funding opportunity would be contacted to confirm their availability to take part in the review process,” they said.
“They might also be asked to assist the WA Department of Health with panel review processes.”
The $1.4 billion FHRI Fund is the centrepiece of the Government’s commitment to drive research and innovation in Western Australia by providing the State’s health and medical researchers and innovators with a secure and continuing source of funding.
Its overall aims are to improve the health and wellbeing of Western Australians; ensure sustainability of the health system; enhance the prosperity of the State, and advance Western Australia’s standing as a leader in health and medical research and innovation, they said.
