The Tasmanian Government is expanding its support for cultural activities through a series of grant funding.
Community organisations and local councils can now apply for grant funding for festivals and events to create new opportunities for the state.
Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs Madeleine Ogilvie announced the opening of the 2025-26 Multicultural Community Festivals Small Grants Program.
“Tasmania’s diverse community is one of our greatest strengths,” Ms Ogilvie said.
“It’s a huge part of who we are and something that deserves to be both celebrated and supported.
“We want to continue backing in our state’s rich culture by showcasing community events and festivals to bring Tasmanians together to learn and share.”
The government has opened the second round of the grants program, which it says plays a vital role in promoting new and emerging communities and cultural events across the state.
Multicultural events or festivals can receive up to $5000 in funding.
“We are excited to be continuing our support for the fostering of intercultural understanding and respect,” Ms Ogilvie said.
“The Tasmanian Government will always be committed to our vision of Tasmania for a harmonious, inclusive and respectful multicultural island where all Tasmanians belong, and are enabled to contribute and achieve.”
