I’m not a bus catcher unless there’s an emergency and my neighbourhood seems to be devoid of Canberra’s iconic ‘solid as a rock’ 1975 bus stop creations of Clem Cummings that serve as cold concrete lumps placed just a bit ‘skew wiff’ for visibility and cold concrete protection.
The Clem Cummings creations have been given a new lease on life and dare I say it status.
Yes, they all look quite impressive in the collection photographed by Trevor Dickinson and now smartly framed in a veritable bank of bus stops at the Canberra Museum and Gallery exhibition.
There’s an individuality about them, and a kind of neighbourhood decor on some and the usual graffiti incumbent on all fixed features of the urban landscape, but they look so good.
Pop in to CMAG and find your local and admire the artful designs of Trevor Dickinson in bringing the concrete lumps into this century.

And when will the NBN be completed?
