The Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector is meeting the costs of workshops providing support and capacity building available to the defined entities wishing to meet their obligations under the Gender Equality Act 2020.
The Commission said 211 defined entities had already received training from GenderWorks Australia.
“There will be a recording of the session and slides posted on our website shortly if you missed out on the workshops,” the Commission said.
It said the Equality Institute was currently delivering gender impact assessment training and urged relevant organisations to nominate two people from their entity to undertake the gender impact assessment training by registering as soon as possible.
The Commission said funded workshops on strategies to improve gender equality would take place this month and be open to up to five people from each defined entity.
“These workshops will provide defined entities with practical training to help meet their obligation to develop a Gender Equality Action Plan,” it said.
“We recommend organisations register staff members leading Gender Equality Act 2020 Implementation, with gender/diversity and inclusion responsibilities, Human Resources/systems expertise and change management where possible,” the Commission said.
