The Webstirs are a four-piece indie pop/rock band from Chicago USA, and they have released six albums of clever pop to date.

For a Moment is their latest effort.

The band formed in 1994 by childhood friends Preston Pisellini (guitars/keys/vocals) and Mark Winkler (keys/vocals), and also includes drummer Jordan Kozer, bassist Gregg Juhlin, and Doug Bobenhouse on guitar/vocals.

All these band members have been actively involved in other bands over many years, so they all bring lots of experience to The Webstirs.

Their signature sound is melodic pop that has an old school, ‘60s-‘70s-‘80s vibe to it.

This particular album was recorded a little differently to their previous efforts in that they recorded it at multiple locations including a number of studios, even recording some backing vocals and keyboards at home.

All their albums have been mixed and produced by Matt Allison and this time he used the Atlas Chicago studio along with additional recording at Fizzboompop and million Yen Studios.

This album is really catchy, revealing the excellent musicianship of all concerned and their clever song writing.

It’s also obvious that the band has developed a good relationship with Allison for his production is perfectly suited to the songs.

It’s not often that you come across an album of pop songs that are as consistently good as these ones.

There’s not a dud among the ten tracks.

Once the album was finished I went straight back for a second listen.

The album is available on Bandcamp.

There are some good clips on YouTube.
