Organisers of this year’s Floriade have pulled out all the plugs to make the 2018 NightFest the best ever.

Promoting the popular after-hours attraction as Floriade’s ‘Illuminated Wonderland in Commonwealth Park’, they have designed a string of one movie night, two music nights, a party night and a comedy night over its five-night run which starts next Wednesday, 26 September.

“Roll out your picnic blanket and relive your favourite 80s films as you sit amidst the twinkling flowerbeds at NightFest’s outdoor cinema!” is the organisers’ invitation to Movie Night on Wednesday, 26 September.

“Catch Back to the Future (PG) followed by Ghostbusters (PG).”

The following night is Music Night and Canberra’s Lucy Sugerman will take to the stage before the enigmatic and genre-defying Mojo Juju on Thursday night (27 September).

“Award winning storyteller and creator, Thelma Plum, will cap off the evening with her smooth tones,” the organisers add.

Friday (28 September) will bring out the dancers as the spotlight is turned on NightFest’s second night of music which boasts the magical performances of Caiti Baker, the stellar Bowie Unzipped and award-winning singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke.

Party night on Saturday (29 September) will feature Canberra’s party band Big Boss Groove and the talented one man band extraordinaire, Juzzie Smith warming up the revellers before the 80s synth-pop masters Cell Block 69 hit the stage.

The final NightFest on Sunday (30 September) will be entrusted to the comedians with The Stevenson Experience, Christine Ryan, Akmal Saleh, Matt Okine, Melanie Bracewell, Andy Saunders, Nikki Britton and Arj Barker appearing to the delight of all.

“Come early and grab a bite for dinner from the wide variety of multicultural cuisines available including Italian, Asian and more,” the organisers advise.

“Plus, those with a sweet tooth will delight in delicious donuts, Belgium waffles, and crepes!”

Bookings for all, some or one of the nights can be made now at this PS News link and the full NightFest program is available on the floriadeaustralia.com/nightfest website.
