The Victorian Small Business Commission (VSBC) has produced new factsheets for small business tenants and landlords with leasing advice translated into English, Simplified Chinese, Arabic and Vietnamese.
The Commission said the new resources included information about its supports under the Victorian Government’s Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme (the Scheme), which was introduced to ease financial hardship faced by some tenants and landlords as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our digital fact sheets offer information on how to access free mediation through the VSBC to resolve a rent dispute,” the Commission said.
It said the fact sheets also covered the steps tenants and landlords could take under the Scheme as well as offering a template for requesting rent relief and responses to FAQs.
The Commission said the factsheets also offered practical scenarios showing negotiations of rent relief under the Scheme.
“The VSBC is here to help small business tenants and landlords of diverse backgrounds to resolve their disputes,” it said.
VSBC said it could speak with tenants and landlords through the Translation and Interpreting Service and bring the two parties together with an experienced mediator to support fair tenancy negotiations.
