The Fair Work Ombudsman has launched a new online hub of information to assist small businesses keep up to date with their workplace relations obligations.
Minister for Small and Family Business, the Workplace and Deregulation, Craig Laundy welcomed the Small Business Showcase, saying it also contained information for the different stages of a small business.
He said this included hiring, paying employees, keeping the right records and managing employees.
“There is also a small business checklist and information to keep businesses up to date with their workplace relations obligations,” Mr Laundy said.
“I thank the Fair Work Ombudsman for developing this new resource and encourage all small business owners to check out the Showcase to ensure they know everything they need to know about their obligations under workplace law.”
He said he was focused on improving the business environment, with an example being the Small Business Digital Taskforce, which is currently looking at barriers faced by small businesses as they try to keep pace with digital change and opportunities.
“The Fair Work Ombudsman also has a dedicated small business helpline to provide tailored advice for small businesses,” Mr Laundy said.
“The helpline has taken half a million calls since it was set up at the end of 2013.”
